A Note from the Principal Dear Thorson Families, For the month of February, we are learning about the character trait of integrity. We will kick off our work with this character trait tomorrow morning at our all-school Jaguar Jumpstart in the gym. Please be sure your child is on time to school as we will begin our assembly promptly at 8:50 a.m. Students and staff should proudly wear their Thorson gear or school colors to school tomorrow! Go Jaguars! Don’t forget that optional parent/teacher conferences are next Thursday evening (2/8) from 4:00-7:30 p.m. If you would like to sign up for a conference, you can do so in Skyward Family Access. The conference scheduler will be closed on Monday, February 5. See here for directions to sign up. In PTO news, we have a number of things coming up, so mark those calendars! Our next PTO meeting is Monday, February 12 at 7:00 p.m. in the Community Room. The girls Fancy Dance is being held on Saturday, February 17 so be sure to get your tickets if you haven’t yet. New this year, we are bringing back our free boys and girls morning breakfast events. Our first event, Donuts with your Dude, is coming up fast on February 29. Be sure to RSVP if you plan to attend. Finally, our winter carnival is being held on Saturday, March 16. See below for more information on all of these events. Scott May, Assistant Principal New and ExcitingPhysical Education Student Teacher-Mr. Kirst We are excited to welcome a new Physical Education student teacher to Thorson this quarter! Mr.Cameron Kirst is wrapping up his undergraduate degree from UW-Whitewater and has joined us at Thorson to do the first part of his student teaching assignment. He will be with us until March 22nd and will move on to another school to finish out his student teaching experience and will graduate in June. Mr. Kirst is beginning to lead various activities in PE and will soon be taking on more lead teaching roles. We look forward to sharing this experience with our students and with Mr. Kirst. Winter Carnival The Thorson PTO is excited to be once again hosting the Winter Carnival on March 16, 2024, from 11 AM to 3 PM. Bring your sweet tooth because this year we will be transforming Thorson into CandyLand! Games, prizes, face painting, cotton candy and more!

This fancy, fun, red carpet event is happening on Saturday, February 17, 2024 from 6-8:30. This event is for all Thorson girls in grades 4K-5th and their father or special male guest. Fancy attire is encouraged but not required. It will be a fantastic event that the young ladies in your family will not want to miss! Reservation requests for the Thorson Celebration Rock are now being accepted for the 2023-2024 school year. For $10, your birthday message will be displayed on the rock for a 24-hour period.
