Dear Families,
We have been tracking Lion and Lamb days in Number Corner...ask your child what that means! We are all looking forward to MORE Lamb days ahead!!
This week in ELA we read the story The Three Billy Goats Fluff by Rachael Mortimer - WE LOVED IT!! While listening to the story, we worked on the strategies of predicting, sequencing the story, retelling, and making connections. We also listened to the original version of the Three Billy Goats Gruff. We did a great job of comparing and contrasting the 2 stories!
We loved making these cute projects to go along with our story!!
Our poem was Splish Splash! We are ready for SPRING PUDDLES!!
Our phonics focus was the S BLENDS. We read words that begin with these blends, we sorted pictures that begin with these sounds and we practiced making these words with letter tiles. Be sure to ask us to practice some of these words at home, too!!
Our 2 focus sight words were they and came.
This was our sight word game this week...be sure to ask your child where the Billy Goats were hiding!
This week during Math, we played some new games! We built addition equations, we counted with dimes and pennies and we worked on decomposing numbers! Be sure to ask your child which game was their favorite - Roll, Add and Compare, A Dime and Some Pennies, or Shake Those Beans?
*Don't forget...THE THORSON CARNIVAL IS THIS SATURDAY! We hope to see you ALL there!
Have a GREAT weekend!!
💚💛Mrs. Neuville and Mrs. Rocky
