WEAR YOUR BUCKS GEAR TOMORROW!!

Early Release at 1:45 Tomorrow!

A Note from the Principal
Dear Thorson Parents,

I hope that you are enjoying the warm weather this week.  Even though it may feel like summer, we are still working very hard at school and focusing on our learning.  There are many projects and units of study that we are beginning to wrap up as the end of the year approaches.  May is a busy month in school!

MAP testing is upon us!  Students in grades Kindergarten through Fifth are “showing what they know” in the areas of mathematics and reading.  If your child is going to be absent any day next week, please make sure to contact the office so that we can make arrangements to get MAP testing completed.

Tomorrow is an early release day, with K-5 students being dismissed at 1:45 p.m. 4K will run their modified early release day schedule.  Teachers will be engaged in professional development activities in the afternoon.

Have a great weekend! Go Bucks!

Sincerely,

Angela Little, Principal
Brittany Kleeba, Assistant Principal

I's almost time to showcase all the time and energy our 5th-grade band students have put in this year! Here is the information regarding the 5th-grade band concert on Monday, May 16th.
Date: Monday, May 16th
Location: Cedarburg Performing Arts Center
Student call time: 6:00 PM
Concert start: 7:00PM
Attire: Dressy clothes
All performing students will need to be dropped off in the front doors of the CPAC at 6:00PM. Our attire for the evening should be nice dressy clothes, the details of which we will leave up to the discretion of our band parents.

Green Team

Green Squad is looking to fill a few more slots for helping with our new planter boxes!  Please sign-up!

Help the Thorson Green Team by turning your Coca-Cola product purchases into donations to Thorson.  You can donate by going to coke.com/give/schools and selecting Thorson Elementary.  Then scan or enter product codes from participating products.  Codes are located on the inside of caps or printed inside cardboard cases.  If you don't have the time, please bring the codes to school and put them in the RED bucket inside the front doors.  Donations received will be used to fund Green Team projects at Thorson.

Thorson is renewing its interest in the Crayola ColorCycle program.  This program converts old markers into energy as well as wax compounds for asphalt and roofing shingles. The process repurposes the entire marker, regardless of the different kinds of plastics or how they are assembled. ALL brands of markers, highlighters and dry erase markers can be recycled.  Markers can be placed in the WHITE bucket near the front doors or in the GREEN buckets throughout the building.

Absent/Late Arrival-

If you are going to be late or absent, please call the Thorson attendance line at 262-376-6766 before 9:00 a.m.  Please state your student's first and last name, teacher, and the reason for the absence.  If you are going to be late and are taking hot lunch, please let us know your child's lunch choice by calling the school office at 262-376-6705.
