Dear Families,
We would like to thank our military parents for their service! We honored their families today by wearing the color purple! 2 kindergarten friends have parents in the military - they received a special award and bracelet!
In ELA this week, we read the story The Easter Bunny's Assistant. While listening to the story, we worked on the strategies of predicting, retelling, cause and effect, and making connections. We all thought this was a super silly story! Be sure to ask us our favorite part!
Our vocabulary words this week were assistant and pleasant. Ask us what these 2 words mean!
We also read a nonfiction story about skunks. We learned so many amazing skunk facts! Did you know a baby skunk is called a kit?? Or that skunks can spray up to 10 feet!! Be sure to ask us what skunks like to eat!!
This week we learned our last 2 kindergarten sight words- their and were. We had fun playing Easter Bunny Tic Tac Toe while practicing reading our sight words! We are ALL doing a really great job at knowing these words - we will continue reviewing all 58 words 4th Quarter!
Our phonics lessons all focused on the /or/ chunk. Be sure to ask us to write some /or/ words at home...born, corn, storm, stork, and pork!!
Today during Reading Centers we played some fun review games! Be sure to ask your child if they had fun!!
Hooray!! We earned 10 eyeballs on our behavior chart! As a special reward, we got to make an Easter Egg and marble paint some bunnies!! It was a fun way to celebrate our good behavior!!!
Have a WONDERFUL and RELAXING, Easter break!!
