NO SCHOOL TOMORROW!

A Note from the Principal
Dear Thorson Families,

The teachers are looking forward to parent/teacher conferences tonight after school. We want to thank the PTO for providing dinner so teachers can get a quick meal in between conferences. If you were not able to attend conferences tonight, but you would still like an opportunity to collaborate with your child(ren)’s teacher, you are always encouraged to reach out to the teacher(s). We believe that strong school/family relationships are one of the key factors that help our students have a successful school experience.

Just a reminder that there is NO SCHOOL for students tomorrow, Friday, February 18. Teachers will participate in professional learning on Friday centered around Social Studies and English Language Arts.

Next Tuesday is a special day at Thorson!  It is 2/22/22 on a Tuesday!  Students and staff are invited to dress in tutus, ties, tennis shoes, or twin with a friend!

Have a wonderful long weekend!

Sincerely,

Angela Little, Principal
Brittany Kleeba, Assistant Principal

If your student is being transported on one of our routes, please ensure your student has a mask. Students will not be able to board a bus without wearing a mask. If your student chooses not to wear a mask while at school, they may remove the mask after exiting the bus.

Help the Thorson Green Team by turning your Coca-Cola product purchases into donations to Thorson.  You can donate by going to coke.com/give/schools and selecting Thorson Elementary.  Then scan or enter product codes from participating products.  Codes are located on the inside of caps or printed inside cardboard cases.  If you don't have the time, please bring the codes to school and put them in the RED bucket inside the front doors.  Donations received will be used to fund Green Team projects at Thorson.

Thorson is renewing its interest in the Crayola ColorCycle program.  This program converts old markers into energy as well as wax compounds for asphalt and roofing shingles. The process repurposes the entire marker, regardless of the different kinds of plastics or how they are assembled. ALL brands of markers, highlighters and dry erase markers can be recycled.  Markers can be placed in the WHITE bucket near the front doors or in the GREEN buckets throughout the building.

Absent/Late Arrival-
If you are going to be late or absent, please call the Thorson attendance line at 262-376-6766 before 9:00 a.m.  Please state your student's first and last name, teacher, and the reason for the absence.  If you are going to be late and are taking hot lunch, please let us know your child's lunch choice by calling the school office at 262-376-6705.
