A Note from the Principal
Dear Thorson Families, It is hard to believe that we are in the final days of September! Students and staff are getting into a rhythm and our kids are working very hard to learn and grow. We are almost done with our iReady math and literacy assessments in grades K-5. You will receive an alert when results are posted in Skyward. In the month of October, we will be having our annual Pumpkin Days event, as well as our annual Halloween parade. The parade will be outdoors again, with our improved route that we used last year. Get your child’s costume ready and mark your calendar for Friday, October 27 at the end of the day. More details (including the time) will be coming out as we get closer to this event! If there is inclement weather, the parade will be held inside for students and staff only. The next PTO meeting is coming up on Monday, October 9 at 7:00 p.m. in the Thorson Community Room. All are welcome to attend, and we hope to see many of you there! Also, don’t forget that the PTO’s Fall portrait fundraiser is currently going on. See the flyer below for more information! Next Friday, October 6 is an Early Release Day! The 4K schedule on Early Release Days is 8:50-10:35 for the morning session and 12:00-1:45 for the afternoon session. Hello Cedarburg Band Families,
This message is a reminder about 5th grade band beginning next week. (Oct 2-6). Please refer to the Band Schedule to find your child’s day and time for their lesson.
*** Please remember that students only come once per week for their instrument lesson at this time. We don’t add the full band rehearsals until January.
Drop off instructions:
Thorson - Lessons are held in the Flex Rm. (next to the music room) Students should enter through the main door by the office.
Final reminder: Students who have earlier lesson times will be expected to stay in the room during the remaining lessons until the start of school. Please have your child bring something quiet to work on, be it their Chromebook, homework, reading book etc.
We are super excited to start making some music next week!

We meet 4-5 times a year to plan activities such as maple tree tapping, school gardening, story strolls, and more!
