Dear Families,
Can you believe it is almost June?!? We're in the final countdown! One more week of kindergarten left! Even though there is a little time, we have been busy!
We celebrated our summer birthdays this month by creating a birthday book, wearing crowns, and singing our favorite birthday songs. Have the most wonderful birthdays this summer, friends!
ELA Skills
We are continuing to read long a_e words. The students are doing a great job at being able to read these words. Sometimes, our reading series is trying to trick us by having words like cap and cape. Our job is to read each word carefully!
ELA Knowledge
This week, we have been learning all about sharks! We learned about the Great White, Nurse, Hammerhead, and Tiger Shark. Our job was to listen to the stories and videos and then write down three facts that we had learned. Ask your kindergartner which shark was their favorite.
Writing
We worked on creating posters for the high school graduates who will be visiting our school on Friday. We are so excited to celebrate the big kids on their next adventure!
During math class, we have been learning about money. We have discussed the penny, nickel, dime, and quarter. We have learned about who is on the head's side and what is on the tail's side. We have learned how much each coin is worth and how to count the coins. We love hearing money songs to help us with identification. Please enjoy this money video at home!
Thank you all so much for your support!
Take care,
Mrs. Neuville and Mrs. Rocky
