Weekly Newsletter May 13- 17th

May 16, 2024

Dear Families,
We have been busy in kindergarten!  We are getting closer and closer to becoming 1st graders!

ELA SKILLS

This week we learned about how ee makes the long e sound.  We can find this in words like "see" "sheep" "feet" and "queen".  We practiced this sound in our new reader, Scott!  We read a story all about Scott and his pet sheep named Lee.  We are working on answering comprehension questions using complete sentences.  We are so excited to learn all about Scott!  We are becoming such AMAZING readers!

ELA KNOWLEDGE

We are continuing to learn about weather in ELA Knowledge!  We have learned all about severe weather and ways to stay safe when there is bad weather. We also learned all about the job of a meteorologist.  We learned that meteorologists are scientists who study the weather.  Be sure to ask us all about our new understanding of the weather!

MATH:
This week in math, we used a number line to play some fun games.  We had to locate numbers on the number line and find the number that was 2 more or 2 less. We also had to locate numbers on a 50's chart - wow! We are learning so much in math!

*Mark your calendars for our Kindergarten Concert at 6PM on May 23rd!

* Tomorrow is the last day to bring in your spare change for the Penny War!  Help out our Green Team!

Have a wonderful weekend,
💕 Mrs. Neuville & Mrs. Rocky
