A Note from the Principal Dear Thorson Families, Happy 4th Quarter! I hope you all had a wonderful Spring Break! Tomorrow (April 5) we have Jaguar Jumpstart. We will be kicking off our April character trait of the month, which is resilience. Students and staff are encouraged to wear Thorson spiritwear or school colors. Your child’s third quarter progress report has been posted in Skyward. Please see the directions in the Thursday Folder email sent today for how to access it. Please review your child’s report at your earliest convenience! Please remember that students in grades 3-5 will be taking the ELA Forward test next week on Tuesday-Thursday (4/9-4/11). Teachers went over the online tools training and sample items this week. Please ensure that your child is in attendance on these days, and ensure that they are well rested, have had a good breakfast, and have their charged Chromebook. Thank you for your help with this! Next week is severe weather awareness week in Wisconsin. The Cedarburg Schools will be participating in the statewide tornado drill next Thursday, April 11. We will discuss safety practices both prior to and following the tornado drill with our students. It is important for us to communicate the importance of preparedness with our students and affirm that we practice these drills to help us stay safe. Finally, our annual Stuff the Bus Food Drive kicks off next week. We are excited to partner with the Ozaukee Food Alliance and the other Cedarburg elementary schools to participate in this great service learning project. Our Thorson Student Council is helping to lead this project. Thank you for considering donating nonperishable food items for this cause. See below for more information about the food drive. Sincerely, Angela Little, Principal Scott May, Assistant Principal New and ExcitingThorson Green Team Did you know that your gently worn sneakers could help the Thorson Green Team? Well, they can and here’s how… Starting April 8, our team is participating in a fundraiser where there is nothing to buy or sell; All we need is your support and your gently worn, used, or new sneakers! Start in closets and gather as many pairs of sneakers that you no longer want; maybe you’ve out-grown them, they’re out of style, or out of season. We can only accept athletic shoes. No other shoes please. You can ask your neighbors and friends to help out. Every pair counts! Please bring the sneakers to school and place them in the collection container inside the front doors. The sneakers that we all collect will help raise money to support our program AND will help our environment by keeping sneakers out of landfills.
