NO SCHOOL TOMORROW
A Note from the Principal
Dear Thorson Families,
Reading and Math MAP scores for students in grades 1-5 are now available in Skyward (kindergarten students do not take this assessment until January). Please take a moment to view your child’s MAP report by logging into the parent portal and clicking on "Portfolio and Reports". The MAP assessment will be given again in January and once more in May. If you have any questions regarding your child’s MAP report, please contact your child’s classroom teacher.
Save the date! Fall Parent/Teacher Conferences are scheduled for 4:00-7:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 18 and Monday, November 22. Families will be able to sign up for either an in-person or virtual conference via Skyward starting on October 21. Detailed information regarding how to sign up for Parent/Teacher Conferences will be coming shortly. If the dates and time frames listed above do not work for you, please reach out to your child’s teacher to set up a mutually agreeable time to meet. Thank you!
Remember that there is no school tomorrow as it is a scheduled professional development day for teachers. Have a wonderful, safe weekend and GO BREWERS!
Sincerely,
Angela Little, Principal

Nurses Corner
Cold and Flu season is upon us and we are still experiencing cases of COVID-19 within our schools and community. In an effort to keep all of our staff and students' health a priority, and help limit the spread of illness within our schools, please keep the following recommendations in mind.
- Please keep your child home from school when exhibiting any signs or symptoms of illness including, but not limited to: fever, cough, runny nose, sore throat, loss of taste and/or smell, etc.
- Please contact your healthcare provider if your child experiences any signs or symptoms that could be indicative of COVID-19 and inquire about having him or her tested.
- Please keep your child home if he or she is undergoing testing for COVID-19 if symptomatic and/or due to exposure if quarantining. Please notify your child's school if your child is diagnosed with COVID-19.
- Please reinforce healthy habits at home: frequent hand washing, coughing and/or sneezing into one’s elbow, and refraining from attending events/activities when experiencing signs or symptoms of illness.
- Please notify the school if your child has had contact with someone who you know was diagnosed with COVID-19. (Quarantines are currently not mandatory, but we continue to recommend quarantine in cases of exposure in hopes we can help limit the spread of COVID-19 in our schools).
