Happy May! Can you believe we have only a month left of school! It has been such a joy to see how far they all of come! We are excited to see all the AMAZING things they will do by the last day of school.
ELA Skills
This week, we focused on adding some new tricky words to our reading vocabulary. We learned the words once, said and says. We practiced these words in our new story called "A Gift from Mom." We had to read this story on our own AND be able to answer multiple choice comprehension questions AND answer questions in complete sentences! We can do it! When you see our work, please notice and compliment us on being able to write in complete sentences. We also practiced the correct formation of our uppercase letters. We are doing a great job of printing our letters! We are trying to make sure that our tall letters are tall and our small letters are small - be sure to notice how neat we are printing!
ELA Knowledge
We are starting our weather unit. The students have been introduced to our pen pal, Annie. She writes us letters from her hometown of Washington, D.C. She tells us all about the weather and seasons where she lives. So far, we have learned about winter, spring, and summer. We know that the months of December, January, and February are for Winter. March, April, and May are for Spring. June, July, and August are for Summer. We are able to tell you the characteristics of each season! We love learning about each season!
