Weekly Newsletter- April 3-6

Families,

In ELA this week, we read the story The Easter Bunny's Assistant.  While listening to the story, we worked on the strategies of predicting, retelling, cause and effect, and making connections.  We all thought this was a super silly story! Be sure to ask us our favorite part!

Our vocabulary words this week were assistant and pleasant.  Ask us what these 2 words mean!

We also read a nonfiction story about skunks.  We learned so many amazing skunk facts! Did you know a baby skunk is called a kit?? Or that skunks can spray up to 10 feet!! Be sure to ask us what skunks like to eat!!

We had fun playing Easter Bunny Tic Tac Toe while practicing reading our sight words! We are ALL doing a really great job at knowing these words - we will continue reviewing all 58 words 4th Quarter!

Our phonics lessons all focused on the /ar/ chunk.  Be sure to ask us to write some /ar/ words at home...star, far, art, cart

In math, we are working on the concept that a teen number is 10 and some more.  We have used double ten frames to explore and work on this idea.  The students would also look at two double tens frame cards and determine which card is more and which is less.  Take a look at your child's
Seesaw journal to see what we are up to!

Have a WONDERFUL Easter break!  We will see you back at school on Tuesday, April 11th.

Have a WONDERFUL and RELAXING, Easter break!!
