NO SCHOOL TOMORROW
A Note from the Principal
Dear Thorson Families,
We have officially completed the first quarter of the 2022-23 school year. It has been a great first quarter, and we are excited to continue learning with all of our students as we begin the second quarter. Thank you for all of your support thus far this year!
For the month of November, we are learning about the character trait of citizenship. Students will learn that being a good citizen means being involved to make your community, country, or world a better place. We will reinforce this concept in our weekly Jaguar Jumpstarts, in the classrooms and throughout the school this month.
As we close out the quarter, there is NO school tomorrow, Friday, November 4. Your child’s first quarter progress report will be posted in Skyward Family Access on Thursday, November 10. You will receive an email when your child’s progress report is ready to view with instructions for how to do this.
Please remember to sign up for a parent/teacher conference. Conferences are being held in-person on November 17 and November 21st from 4:00-7:30 p.m. Here is the information regarding conferences and how to sign up!
Finally, we have had some close calls at morning drop off and want to remind everyone of the importance of following our drop-off procedures. The safety of our students, staff, and families is our number one priority. There are staff posted in the drop off line and it is critical that all cars follow the directives of the staff members on duty. Please do not pull forward until motioned to do so, be aware of what is going on around you, and drive slowly and cautiously through the drop-off lane. Thank you for your cooperation and help in keeping everyone safe.
Have a great long weekend!
Sincerely,
Angela Little, Principal
Scott May, Assistant Principal

Veterans Day
On Friday, November 11, 2022, we will celebrate Veterans Day by having a special car procession past all three of our CSD elementary schools. Please fill out the form if your child has a Veteran who would like to join us in this special procession.
Veteran's Day Service Learning Project
As part of our celebration, we'd like to continue the tradition of adding a Service Learning Project. We believe that by participating in this activity, our students will have a better understanding of what citizenship means, and they can continue to grow as “Students of Character!” As a district, we would like to collect money to send to Camp American Legion which is an organization that welcomes Veterans and their families to come together in a safe and comfortable environment so that they can reconnect and heal. For more information on how you can participate please see this flyer.
Absent/Late Arrival
If you are going to be late or absent, please call the Thorson attendance line at 262-376-6766 before 9:00 a.m. Please state your student's full name, teacher, and the reason for the absence. If your student will be taking hot lunch they will need to leave their lunch choice as well.
