A Note from the PrincipalDear Thorson Families, We had a great school-wide Green Squad clean-up day on Monday. The students did an excellent job cleaning up and mulching our outdoor spaces. We are lucky to have these wonderful outdoor spaces, and the students really enjoyed helping to beautify our trails and nature center. Thank you to the Thorson Green Squad for their hard work on this day. Next week is our annual Halloween Parade. The parade will begin at 3:15 p.m. Details for tomorrow’s parade can be found here. Please note the areas for parents and guests to stand and ensure you stand in only those spaces. In inclement weather, the parade will only be held inside for staff and students. If the outdoor parade is canceled, we will send an email by 1:00 p.m. Also, students will return to the building after the parade and be released at 3:35. Students will not be released early unless they have a pre-arranged appointment that was communicated to the office beforehand. We have adjusted the time of the parade so there should not be a large gap between the parade's end and pick-up time. Thank you for your assistance with this. Remember that next week is Pumpkin Days. Families are welcome to decorate uncarved pumpkins to be displayed in the IMC the week of October 23. There will be a cart outside Door 1 (the main entrance) for you to put your decorated pumpkin on. Pumpkins can be picked up on Friday, October 27 in the exact location. See here for more details. Our next PTO Dining for Dollars event is Tuesday, October 24, at That Taco Guy, at the Grafton Citgo. Food will be served from 11 AM -6 PM, and the PTO will get 30% of sales. See here for more details. There is no school tomorrow, Friday, October 20, as this is a teacher's professional development day. Looking ahead, there is also no school on Friday, November 3, as this is the end of the quarter record day. Also, parent-teacher conferences are scheduled for Thursday, November 16, and Monday, November 20. Watch for an email with how to sign up the week of October 30. We hope you all have a wonderful long weekend!
