Dear Families,
Wow! We had another full week in kindergarten! We have been super busy learning and having fun!
Skills
During skills, we have been working on writing different types of lines. We made zig-zag lines, wavy lines, and a swirl! You can practice these different types of lines at home. We are also practicing writing our names the kindergarten way. This means that the first letter is capitalized and the rest are small.
During skills, we are also practicing blending sounds together to make a word. Did you see us practicing on Seesaw? We love playing the blending game- which is a lot like duck, duck, goose! We also play the game where we have to listen to the sounds and find the picture that goes along with that word. Check it out on Seesaw!
Knowledge
This week have been working on fables. We learned that fables will often have animals as the main characters. We found out that many fables teach us lessons. We heard the stories "The Lion and the Mouse", "The Greedy Dog", and "The Hare and the Tortoise" Ask your kindergartner which one was their favorite!
On Friday, we will be celebrating our very first Knowledge unit! We are going to do fun activities that go along with our Nursery Rhymes. It will be so FUN!
We loved learning our poem for the week! We had fun singing the words and learning the actions. We will be performing our poem on Seesaw on Friday! We know you will love it too!
