NO SCHOOL TOMORROW and Monday, April 10th!

A Note from the Principal
Dear Thorson Families,

I hope you all had a wonderful Spring Break! Today marks the end of the third quarter of our school year. Teachers will be finalizing their records to close out this quarter during our PD/Records Day on Monday, April 10. Progress reports will be posted in Skyward later next week. You will receive an email next week when the progress reports have been posted.

Forward Testing for students in grades 3-5 begins next week. Please make sure that your child is well rested, has a hearty and healthy breakfast, and has a charged chromebook for testing. Here is the master testing schedule. Watch for further details from your child’s teacher.

As we begin to prepare for the 2023-24 school year, if your family will not be returning to Thorson next year for any reason, please fill out this form and  let the school office know as soon as possible so that we can plan accordingly. Thank you!

Our next PTO meeting is Monday, April 11 at 7:00 p.m. in the Community Room. All are welcome to join us! We also have thePTO  Fancy Dance coming up on Saturday, April 22, as well as our annual Stuff the Bus Food Drive happening April 17-21. See below for more information on both of these events.

Remember, there is no school tomorrow,  Friday, April 7 in observance of Good Friday. There is also no school on Monday, April 10, as that is a professional development/records day for teachers. We will see everyone back on Tuesday, April 11. Have a great long weekend!

Sincerely,

Angela Little, Principal

                                                                              New and Exciting!

Thorson's Student Council
Teacher Appreciation Week is coming up on May 8-12!  The student council has a special project that we will be making for all of the teachers. We are hoping that students can help us with this project by drawing a picture or writing a letter to any teacher at Thorson.  There is no limit to how many pictures and notes students can create.  Here is a possible note that your child could print and a list of teachers that your child could reference. Please make sure that your child has the teacher's name on it, along with his/her name. Please turn in any letters or drawings to your child's teacher by Monday, April 24th. We know that everyone is super busy, so thank you in advance for your help!

Stuff the Bus Food Drive
Parkview, Thorson and Westlawn Elementary Schools are excited to be working together to STUFF THE BUS with non-perishable items for Saukville Community Food Pantry for it’s 5th year! Saukville Community Food Pantry serves over 550 families a month in Ozaukee County through their 7 different food programs. Food drives like Stuff the Bus can help refill the shelves due to the increased use of the pantry during this difficult time. Your food donation makes a big difference! Items most needed are canned fruits and vegetables, pasta and sauce, rice, peanut butter and jelly, canned chunky soups, Manwich, dry cereal, ketchup, mayonnaise, granola bars, soap, shampoo, conditioner, deodorant, toothpaste, and shaving items.
All donated items can be brought into school the week of April 17th -21st. On Friday, April 21 st all donated items will be picked up and delivered to the food pantry.
If you would like to make a monetary donation to the Saukville Community Food Pantry instead of a food donation, you can Venmo the pantry directly at @saukvillefoodpantry.

We are also still in need of volunteers to help us unload and sort the donations, you can sign up here to help us with that.
Thank you for participating in the 5th Annual Stuff the Bus Food Drive!
