Writing in Kindergarten

 

Families,

Your kindergartner has been working really hard during writing time!  We are currently doing some directed drawings and then practicing sounding out words.  We are teaching the students that we want them to sound out the words the best that they can.  We know that the words are spelled incorrectly at this time but in time they will be corrected!  

You can help at home by encouraging your child to sound out words and writing them down.  Even if your child writes just the beginning sound- this is a win!  You can also help out by reading your child's writing and being proud of their efforts.
